All volunteer medical staff must pass a background check, Finger Print Check, submit a copy of their license, and sign the YMCA Camp Ocoee Code of Conduct.
Job Description: The Head Nurse manages the camp heath and safety program, provides medical treatment to campers and staff when necessary, administers medication to campers, complies with all required documentation, maintains health records and supplies, ensures compliance with ACA (American Camp Association) standards and acts as health educator for campers and staff.
Min. Education Required: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or higher level nurse
Salary: $1,250 per week ($11,250 for 9 week season) Room & board provided
Specific Responsibilities: Live at camp (Sunday-Saturday); provide proper nursing intervention regarding camper care, maintains records, communicates with parents, follows standing orders. Focused on our core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
Required Skills and/or Certifications: Experience working with children; possess high personal standards and Christian values; have a love for children and a willingness to serve them. First Aid and CPR certification.
Physical Demands: Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings. Walking up to 5 miles per day, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, lifting (up to
50 pounds).
